The Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services announced that it had an unintentional release of personal information relating to 6,600 of its Medicaid recipients. Names, dates of birth, addresses, Social Security Number, Medicaid numbers and diagnosis/treatment information to be available online.

The breach resulted when a Web application intended for use within the Department was inadvertently accessible on the Internet. The Department did not provide many details, but did say it strengthened its security policies.
