Here are some key value propositions for employers considering prepaid legal plans:

1. Enhanced Employee Benefits Package

Offering a prepaid legal plan can enhance the overall benefits package, making it more attractive to potential employees and helping with employee retention.

2. Access to Legal Services

Prepaid legal plans provide employees with access to legal services and advice, which can help them address a wide range of personal legal issues, from estate planning to family law matters.

3. Cost Savings

4. Legal Expertise

When employees have access to legal assistance, they may be less distracted by personal legal issues at work, leading to increased productivity and focus.

7. Legal Education

Many prepaid legal plans offer educational resources and seminars to help employees better understand their legal rights and responsibilities. This can empower employees to make informed decisions.

8. Wellness and Well-Being

Addressing legal issues can have a positive impact on employees' mental and emotional well-being.

9. Legal Compliance

Providing access to legal services can help employees navigate legal compliance issues related to employment, such as labor laws and workplace regulations.

How it works

MetLife Legal Plans service is tailored to your needs. With network attorneys available in person, by phone or by email and online tools to do-it-yourself — MetLife makes it easy to get legal help. And, your employees will always have a choice in which attorney to use. They can choose one from MetLife’s network of prequalified attorneys, or use an attorney outside of their network and be reimbursed some of the cost.4

Best of all, they'll enjoy unrestricted access to their attorneys for all legal issues included in the plan. An expert will stand by their side for as long as necessary until the legal matter is resolved.

MetLife’s Legal Plans website provides employees with the ability to create wills, living wills and powers of attorney online in as little as 15 minutes. They’ll answer a few questions about themselves, their families, and their assets to create these documents instantly. In states where available, they also have access to sign and notarize their documents online through the video notary feature.5
