The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) issued revised proposed regulations for the collection and reporting of employer pay data.  Proposed rules were first issued in February.  See our article here

The rules require employers with 100 or more employees to report salary data to the government on their annual EEO-1 starting in 2017.  Form EEO-1 is a report that is filed by private employers with 100 or more employees and by federal contractors with 50 or more employees and contracts of at least $50,000.

Salary information and hours worked for all employees must be reported, categorized by race, ethnicity, gender and pay band.

The new proposed rules extend the reporting deadline to the March 31 of the year following the EEO-1 report year.  This gives employers a bit of extra time to gather and report salary information from the date the EEO-1 report is due in September each year.
