Q.- One of our former employees is upset that he received a bill for his COBRA coverage. He said he was involuntarily terminated and should have free COBRA. Is this true?

A.- He may be eligible for 100% subsidized COBRA coverage if he was involuntarily terminated and is not eligible for other health coverage or Medicare. However, he must complete a form- Request for Treatment as an Assistance-Eligible Individual- and return the form before receiving subsidized coverage.
