Q.- We know there are new COBRA notice rules. We didn’t feel like paying our vendor to send the new notices. Will we be subject to any penalty if we just didn’t comply?

A.- Failing to comply with the notice requirements may subject you to an excise tax of $100 per qualified beneficiary or up to $200 per family for each day you are violating the COBRA notice rules.
