Q.- An employee just gave notice that he is going to quit. Do we have to send a COBRA notice since we did not fire him?

A.- If your plan is subject to COBRA and if the employee was enrolled in health coverage the day before he stops working, he should receive a COBRA election notice. Termination of employment is a COBRA qualifying event whether the termination is voluntary or involuntary.
