Q.- Should we offer COBRA when a person switches from full-time to part-time and no longer is offered benefits?

A.- COBRA should be offered when there is a qualifying event.  A reduction in hours that causes a loss of health coverage is a COBRA qualifying event.  If the person is changing from full-time to part-time due to a reduction in working hours, we would suggest offering the option to continue coverage under COBRA.
