Q.- An employee had an eye lift recently.  She said it was to help her vision at night.  Can she be reimbursed for the procedure from her Health Flexible Spending Account Plan?

A.- Maybe, if the doctor provides a letter of medical necessity.  If the procedure had both a medical and a cosmetic purpose, the doctor should separately itemize the medical and non-medical expenses.  The medical expenses can be considered for reimbursement from the participant’s health FSA.
