Q.-  Our company purchased another company. All of the new employees are coming under our health plan. Do we have to send them a COBRA Initial Rights Notice, even if they had health coverage prior to the acquisition?

A.- Yes. Group health plans must give each employee and each spouse of an employee who becomes covered under the plan a general notice describing COBRA rights. The general notice must be provided within the first 90 days of coverage.
