The IRS released revised draft 1094 and 1095 forms for the 2016 reporting year.  Only a few changes were made to the 2015 versions.

  • Form 1094-C.  The indication of Qualifying Offer Transition Relief was removed from Form 1094-C because the relief applied only to 2015.
  • Form 1095-C.  The Instructions to Recipient identify two new codes that address conditional offers of coverage to a spouse.  These codes were not used in the 2015 filings.

The forms are in draft and should not be relied upon until finalized.  The IRS should be issuing revised instructions to the forms soon.  BAS is reviewing the draft forms and will implement the new versions when final.
