The IRS suggests 7 steps to practice regularly.
- Read credit card and banking statements carefully and often.
- Review and respond to all notices and correspondence from the Internal Revenue Service.

- Review your annual Social Security income statement.
- Read your health insurance statements.
- Shred any documents with personal and financial information.
- Use direct deposit for federal deposits.
