HSA and HDHP Cost of Living Adjustments

The IRS released the 2016 limits for high deductible health plans and health savings accounts. These limits take into account cost of living adjustments. 

HDHP Deductibles. The minimum annual deductible for self-only HDHP coverage will be $1,300 and for family coverage will be $2,600. These amounts did not change from 2015. 

HDHP OOP Maximums. The maximum limit on out-of-pocket expenses for self-only HDHP coverage will be $6,550 and for family coverage will be $13,100. These amounts increased from 2015. 

HSA Contribution Limits. The annual contribution maximum to an HSA for individuals with self-only HDHP coverage will be $3,350 and for individuals with family HDHP coverage will be $6,750. The self-only limit did not change from 2015, but the family coverage limit increased.
