A health system in Indianapolis, Indiana encountered its seventh HIPAA security breach in five years.
St. Vincent Health System, part of Ascension Health, announced that 760 of its patients’ Social Security numbers and clinical health information were inappropriately accessed as part of an email phishing attack. The breach was first discovered in December 2014, and the impacted patients were identified and notified in March 2015.
