The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will open the data collection portal for 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 Component 1 data on Monday, April 26, 2021. The deadline for submitting reports is Monday, July 19, 2021. The 2019 EEO-1 component data collection was delayed due to the COVID-19 national emergency.

The EEO-1 is a report employers are required to file with the EEOC identifying the racial/ethnic and gender composition of their workforce. Information must be provided by specific job categories for a “snapshot” pay period in the fourth quarter of the calendar year (i.e., October, November or December).

Employers with 100 or more employees and employers who are federal contractors or first tier subcontractors with at least $50,000 in contracts are required to file component 1 data reports with the EEOC annually.

Reporting must be completed online at the EEOC’s dedicated website. A link to the site, which has information about filing requirements and getting help for filing, may be accessed by clicking here.
