A San Diego hospital has increased data security training in response to a recent breach.  The breach, which resulted from human error, impacted approximately 14,000 patients.

This training is one of several corrective measures that the hospital is taking.

While security training could help to prevent similar incidents in the future, the suffered breach indicates that all employees who work with sensitive data should be properly educated before handling such information.

Benefit Allocation Systems, Inc. recognizes the importance of data security training.  As part of its commitment to protecting client information, BAS educates all new employees on HIPAA privacy and security matters.

Additionally, BAS conducts yearly refresher trainings to ensure that employees are successfully acting in accordance with its comprehensive HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies.
