People should be wary of using free Wi-Fi even if the Wi-Fi requires a password for access. Free or public Wi-Fi may not have encryption protocols which means that date transmitted using the Wi-Fi is available for anyone to see. This includes websites visited, data entered into websites and emails sent. Any information transmitted over an unsecured Wi-Fi is susceptible to cyber theft.

When browsing out of a home or office, make sure the Wi-Fi connection is secure before using it.
