Q.- An employee submitted a reimbursement claim for an at-home COVID-19 test. Is this eligible? I thought insurance covered the cost of tests.

A.- A COVID-19 at home testing kit is a medical expense eligible for reimbursement from a health flexible spending account. You are also correct that insurance is covering the cost of tests. A health FSA participant cannot be reimbursed from insurance and from the FSA. Before the reimbursement is processed, the participant should be asked to confirm that the participant is not getting reimbursed from any other source.
