Q.- A lot of employees are asking if they can be reimbursed from their dependent care FSA for the cost of their kids’ summer camp. Is camp an eligible expense for reimbursement?

A.- Day camp fees may be eligible for reimbursement from a dependent care FSA. The fees will be eligible if the child is in camp so the parent can work or look for work. This applies even if the camp is a “specialty” camp with a particular focus. Overnight camp fees are not eligible for reimbursement from a dependent care FSA. This applies even if the parent sends the child to overnight camp so he or she can work.
