Q.- I am organizing a “learning pod” for my third grader while his public school is having virtual schooling. Is the cost of the learning pod teacher eligible for reimbursement from my dependent care FSA?

A.- No. Amounts paid for expenses for kindergarten or higher are considered educational and not for the care of a child. This is true even if you would have had to obtain care for your child in order to work during the time period. Learning pod teacher expenses are educational in nature and not day care expenses.
