Q.- I want to decrease my Health FSA election, but my employer said no. Don’t I have to be given the opportunity to change my election this year?

A.- The IRS announced additional permissible mid-year change events. Employers do not have to allow changes under their flexible spending account plans. If your employer did not adopt the new change events, the employer does not have to allow you to adjust your health FSA election mid-year.
