Q.- I heard about a fee some health plans have to pay based on the number of plan participants. How do I know if we have to pay this fee?

A.- You are probably talking about the PCORI fee filing which is due the end of July. If you had a fully insured health plan in 2018, your insurer will file and pay the fee for you. If in 2018 you self-funded your health plan, you will be subject to the PCORI fee reporting and payment requirements.
