The suggestions include:
- Don’t use free web-based email accounts.
- Ensure that firewalls are up to date.
- Immediately report and delete suspicious emails.
- Make sure to “forward” emails back to the sender- do not hit “reply.”
- Check before you click.
- Consider two-factor authentication for employee email.
- Create a security system that flags emails with similar but incorrect formatting.
- Encrypt email in transit.
