Employee Charged with Identity Theft Breached Hospital Records

An employee of a Mississippi hospital had been steeling information in patient records from February 2013 through June 2015. Law enforcement officers informed the hospital that one of their employees was under investigation for identity theft. 

The employee removed records containing names, Social Security Number, medical diagnosis, health plan information and payment information. The hospital contacted impacted individuals and is providing free credit monitoring. The employee was terminated from employment.  For more information from the hospital’s website, click here
