The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released an interactive tool that can be used to determine if an individual or organization is a covered entity under HIPAA. Covered entities must comply with HIPAA’s privacy and security requirements.
The user is presented with a series of questions and the answers determine the user’s HIPAA status. The tool can be accessed here.
