Benefit Allocation Systems, Inc. takes its responsibility to secure client and participant information very seriously.  All employees share in the obligation to protect sensitive data.  An important part of this obligation is the responsibility to shred paper documentation containing PHI or PII.

To support this responsibility, BAS employs a “shred-as-you-go” policy that requires employees to use cross-cut shredding machines to destroy paper documentation once it is no longer needed.

As containers within the shredding machines are filled, the shredded material is put into plastic bags which are then removed and disposed of in an appropriate fashion.

BAS’ shredding policy is just one example of how BAS makes sure sensitive data is kept private and secure.
