BAS maintains HIPAA compliant facilities. In keeping with BAS' focus on privacy and security of clients' sensitive information, BAS maintains a daily facility sweep protocol.
Each day, a designated BAS employee canvasses BAS facilities to make certain there is no sensitive information in plain view. Printers and fax machines are checked, as are photocopy machines. In the rare case that information has not been collected by the originator, the information is returned to the owner. If the owner is not available, the document is shredded. All facility sweeps are logged daily and the results of the sweeps are reviewed by the BAS security team.
Since all visitors to BAS offices must register and be accompanied by a BAS employee, any risk relating to information left unattended is very small. That notwithstanding, BAS takes its responsibility toward client information very seriously.
