In accordance with HHS' January 16, 2009, published two final rules to adopt updated HIPAA standards, BAS is scheduled to send its first two client HIPAA 5010 test files to Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Florida within the next two weeks. BAS expects testing will take approximately 2 weeks per file.

BAS prepares HIPAA EDI 5010 EDI files in order to update its clients' insurance carriers with the most current employees' eligibility and enrollment data. Depending each carrier's requirements, BAS will provide these EDI files to the carriers on a daily, weekly or bi-weekly basis, based on enrollment changes occurring in BAS' MyEnroll.com benefits enrollment/administration system.

The power and Flexibly of BAS' MyEnroll.com Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) software, has made the conversion from the prior file standards quick and easy.
