The U.S. Department of Labor is taking steps to communicate wage and hour laws to workers so they understand employment protections available during the COVID-19 pandemic. The “Essential Workers, Essential Protections” initiative consists of communications targeted to all American in the workforce.

A new series of Frequently Asked Questions addresses pandemic-related situations providing guidance for employees and employers impacted by COVID-19. The topics include questions about pay, break time for nursing mothers, and time off from work if a family member is sick. The Department of Labor will also be hosting webinars on these topics for employees and employers.
