The U.S. Department of Labor has been updating its guidance on the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). FFCRA provides employees protections under a new Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act and an Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act.

These new laws provide employees with enhanced paid leave for reasons related to COVID-19. They also reimburse employers with fewer than 500 employees with tax credits for the cost of providing employees the required leave.

Employers must display a poster giving employees information about FFCRA. A copy of the poster may be accessed by clicking here

If an employer is not at its place of business at this time, the notice should be distributed electronically and posted on a company Intranet.

The DoL has provided a set of questions and answers which it has been updating regularly. The Q&As provide important information about implementation of FFCRA. The Q&As may be accessed by clicking here.
