The National Security Agency released an information sheet providing guidance on securing wireless devices while in public places. The information sheet explains the techniques cyber criminals use to hack into wireless devices and ways people can protect against it.

This guidance is useful as teleworking has increased and people are using computers more in public settings. Checking work email or connecting to a public network may be convenient but public Wifi may not be configured securely. Data sent over public Wifi that does not require a password to access may be subject to theft or manipulation. Even if the Wifi requires a password, it may not encrypt data traffic.

Refer to this link for suggestions on what to do and what not to do when using a wireless device in public.
