Q.- Allergies are bad this year and we have several employees asking if they can get reimbursed from their FSA for the cost of allergy medicine. They don’t have a prescription for the allergy products. Are they still eligible for reimbursement without a script?

A.- Yes, a plan may permit the reimbursement of allergy medicines from a health FSA. The employee will have to provide a receipt showing the name of the medicine, the cost, the date of purchase and the place of purchase.
