Q.- We are hiring a new employee into a full-time position. Since she will be employed going forward, we don’t have hours for her from our measurement period. Would it be OK to not offer her health coverage until she completes a full measurement period?

A.- No. If she is hired into a full-time position (expected to work 30 or more hours per week), you should consider her full-time upon her date of hire and offer her health coverage.
