Q.- May I be reimbursed from my health FSA for the amount I spend on COVID-19 at-home test kits?

A.- The cost of at-home COVID-19 testing is a medical expense eligible to be reimbursed from a health flexible spending account plan. However, if you are reimbursed from a third-party for the cost of the test, you cannot also claim reimbursement from your health FSA. Health insurance carriers and health plans became required to cover the cost of over-the-counter COVID-19 tests starting January 15, 2022. You cannot be reimbursed from your health FSA for the cost of the test if you are also reimbursed from your health plan for the cost of the test. No double-dipping allowed.
