Q.- A former employee’s COBRA is ending at the end of the 18-month period, and he wants to remain on our health plan. Do we have to let him?

A.- If the former employee is not disabled, you do not have to continue his health coverage past the 18 months. You may suggest that he contact www.healthcare.gov to inquire about purchasing coverage through the Marketplace, or that he contact his insurer to ask about converting to an individual policy.
