Q.- We have a new hire who we think is going to work more than 30 hours per week but we are not certain yet. We use the monthly measurement method. Should we offer the employee health coverage?

A.- The person should probably be classified in a group eligible for coverage, but the company can apply a permissible waiting period. Coverage should be offered no later than the first day following the period of three full calendar months after employment.
