The government has committed to revamping the application for coverage on www.healthcare.gov to make sure that enrollment in the Exchange runs more smoothly than last year.

One change is that most individuals who want to purchase health coverage through the Exchange will use an online application that is shorter and simpler.  The new application has fewer questions and less screens to view, along with a “back” button that can be used to fix errors.  The changes are intended to make the application process faster for purchasers of health coverage.  People will answer a set of initial questions to determine if they have to complete the original application or the new, more condensed application.
