Many employers have to file an annual Employer Information Report EEO-1 with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). This report identifies the make-up diversity of an employer’s workforce, which is an important aspect of a company’s affirmative action program.

The EEOC adopted new compensation reporting requirements, but these requirements were blocked by the current administration. The block was a big relief for employers, but created some confusion with respect to what had to be reported on Form EEO-1, and how the information was to be reported.

Annual reporting for 2017 was due March 31, 2018. The EEOC extended the filing deadline due to request from employers for technical assistance. The filing deadline for the EEO-1 Survey is Friday, June 1, 2018.
