The EEO-1 is a report that employers are required to file with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) identifying the racial/ethnic and gender composition of their workforce. Information must be provided by specific job categories for a “snapshot” pay period in the fourth quarter of the calendar year (i.e., October, November or December).

Employers with 100 or more employees and employers who are federal contractors or first tier subcontractors with at least $50,000 in contracts are required to file component 1 data reports with the EEOC annually.

Reporting must be completed online at the EEOC’s dedicated website. A link to the site, which has information about filing requirements and getting help for filing, may be accessed by clicking here.

The EEOC has changed the deadline for submitting and certifying 2019 and 2020 EEO-1 Component 1 Reports to Monday, October 25, 2021. This is communicated as the final deadline and all filers must submit data by this date.
