The BAS Cares team continues to stay active in our mission to support charities by volunteering time and resources to help those less fortunate and in need. More than one year ago, COVID-19 changed our lives. Many charitable organizations were forced to close their doors or tremendously scale back their efforts even while need for their services increased.

The BAS Cares team partnered with Project HOME to prepare “Notes of Hope”. Project HOME is an organization in Philadelphia whose mission is to have adults, children, and families empowered to break the cycle of homeless and poverty. Their vision states, None of us are home until all of us are home.

Like so many others, individuals supported by Project HOME were greatly impacted by the pandemic. Many Project HOME residents have underlying medical conditions and have sheltered in place since the start of the pandemic. Assisting them are frontline staff who worked exhausting hours during the crisis, along with the Project HOME team who continue to ensure the health, wellness, and safety of the entire community.

BAS employees welcomed the opportunity to support Project HOME by preparing “Notes of Hope.” These messages were penned by BAS employees and their family members for people in the Project HOME community who could benefit from support.

The “Notes of Hope” were messages of encouragement, words of thanks and appreciation of tireless hours that did not go unnoticed. We found this initiative to be a quick and easy way to bring a smile to someone who needed it. Our notes were sent with a monetary donation from BAS to help support the on-going efforts of Project HOME!
