Q.- My wife is not covered under my health plan because she has her own coverage through her employer. May I submit her medical expenses for reimbursement through my health FSA?

A.- Probably yes, if allowed under the terms of your employer’s plan. Expenses for medical care that are not reimbursed by insurance or otherwise are eligible for reimbursement from your FSA for your spouse and your children who are your tax dependents. Your wife’s participation in her employer’s medical plan does not impact the ability of you to receive reimbursement for her unreimbursed medical expenses through your FSA.
