Q.- My employer offers a high deductible health plan with a health savings account. May I participate in the HSA/HDHP and also participate in an FSA?

A.- Probably not. To be eligible for an HSA, an individual cannot have health coverage other than HDHP coverage. This means that the person cannot participate in an FSA, unless the FSA is "limited purpose" and reimburses only dental or vision expenses, or if the FSA is "post deductible" and kicks in only after the annual HDHP deductible is satisfied.
