Q.- May I be reimbursed from my FSA for the cost of driving to my doctor appointment?

A.- Probably yes. The IRS considers the cost of travelling to medical care a reimbursable health care expense. Reimbursement is allowed at the standard mileage reimbursement rate for medical expenses, which for 2013 is $.24. To show proof of the commuting, a participant should show a map print out (such as Mapquest directions) documenting the mileage from the home to the appointment.
