BAS works closely with employers to prepare for open enrollment. Online enrollment through BAS' MyEnroll.com allows employees to easily and quickly select benefits through a paperless, self-service enrollment process.

Approximately 90 days before the new plan year for the group benefit plan, a BAS account manager will contact the employer by email and request a discussion of the upcoming open enrollment. In that email, BAS will ask for new plan rates, payroll schedule, open enrollment dates and services to be offered.

Plan Rates

Employers should gather new plan rates as soon as possible. Providing those rates to BAS will allow BAS to accurately update the MyEnroll.com system with amounts for the new plan year. It is important that all reported rates include the total monthly premium, consisting of both employer and employee cost-sharing.

Payroll Schedule

In order to calculate estimated per-pay costs for benefits and appropriate FSA contribution amounts, a payroll schedule should be provided to BAS for effective administration.

Open Enrollment Date and Services

BAS can work within each employer's specific timeframe to prepare for open enrollment. It is important to discuss with BAS the start and end dates of the open enrollment period, whether any plan or carrier changes are anticipated, and how employee elections will be entered into MyEnroll.com (self-service or HR entry). BAS can prepare and/or edit open enrollment communication materials for distribution to employees. At this time, employers may wish to review the standard open enrollment package to confirm that all required notices and forms are being given to employees. BAS can assist with distribution of required materials.

All open enrollment preparations should be completed no later than three weeks prior to the start of open enrollment to make sure documentation and testing is in place before the go-live enrollment date. If you have questions or wish to discuss BAS' open enrollment services, please contact your account manager or sales@BASusa.com.
