Benefit Allocation Systems conducted a sock drive as part of its commitment to community service. A total of 169 pairs of socks were collected and donated to The Joy of Sox- a nonprofit organization, founded in 2010, which provides socks to the homeless.

The Joy of Sox’s mission is to provide joy to the homeless with new socks. Their vision is to be able to provide every homeless person in the United States with a few new pairs of socks every year.

BAS learned that while the homeless community may receive clothing donations, those donations rarely include clean socks. Some of the homeless have extensive foot problems because of this. The Joy of Sox was created to help address this issue. Within the last year, they received over 250,000 sock donations, which they distributed to 31 states across the US starting with Philadelphia.

BAS supported the Joy of Sox’s mission by donating 169 pairs of clean socks. These socks will be part of a distribution in a few weeks to shelters in the greater Philadelphia area. Joy of Sox Founder, Tom Costello Jr,. came to BAS’ office to pick up the donations and presented BAS with a certificate of appreciation for conducting the drive and supporting The Joy of Sox initiative.
