Q.- We have a calendar year plan and use the lookback method for determining full-time status. I know our measurement period ended. What do we do with the results?

A.- You should definitely pay attention to the lookback results. All employees who calculated to be “full-time” based on the hours in the measurement period must be offered health coverage for the upcoming stability period (which is likely the 2023 calendar year). This is the case even if one of the employees is in a non-full-time class. The whole purpose of the lookback measurement method is to identify full-time employees and give them health coverage for the plan year. Be sure to review the results of your calculations and offer health coverage to anyone who calculates to be full-time.
