Q.- A terminated employee who is eligible for COBRA coverage told us he had COVID-19 on the last day of his election period. Does the government require us to give him more time to elect COBRA under the COVID extensions?

A.- No. The extended timeframes for electing and paying for COBRA continuation coverage is over. There is no requirement for you to give a qualified beneficiary who had COVID extended time to elect.
