Question of the Week - HRA Reimbursement Timeframes

Written by BAS | Oct 10, 2024 5:50:14 PM

Q.- What is the maximum time period an HRA can allow for submitting expenses for reimbursement?

A.- The IRS does not set a time limit for submitting HRA claims for reimbursement and it is our understanding that the employer may set its own administrative timing requirements. Whatever runout period the plan sets should be communicated to employees and identified in the written plan document.
