Your Company May Need a Data Protection Officer

Proposed legislation in the European Union would require businesses selling goods and services to European citizens to appoint a Data Protection Officer.  Businesses that process data on Europeans might also have to do the same.

Notably, the regulation would impact businesses whether they are based in the European Union or elsewhere.  It is expected to attain approval as early as October.

If passed, the legislation might require your organization to appoint a Data Protection Officer.  At the same time, it calls attention to the importance of having someone, or a team of people, oversee the privacy and security of all sensitive information.

Benefit Allocation Systems, Inc. has designated privacy and security officials, including a Security Officer.  These officials ensure that all policies and procedures are being properly carried out and keep staff up-to-date on best practices.

Appointing privacy and security officials is just one of the many ways that BAS maintains the integrity of sensitive client data.
