The Center for Internet Security (CIS), a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the security readiness and response of public and private sector entities, has released an updated Critical Security Controls Document. CIS is a cyber security resource for governments and employers.

Draft Version 6c of Critical Security Controls are a recommended set of actions for cyber defense. They provide specific ways to stop cyber attacks, as identified by security experts, through a prioritized set of actions. The Controls align with other security frameworks, including NIST Cybersecurity Framework, U.S.-CERT recommendations and international guidance. Draft Version 6c is open for public comment until July 31.
