This fall, the BAS Cares Team proudly joined the Upper Merion community in a heartfelt initiative to support Veterans ahead of the upcoming Veterans Day holiday. Partnering with other volunteers in the “Wishes for Our Warriors” card-making event, our team helped contribute to a moving expression of gratitude and recognition for those who served our country.
Held as part of Upper Merion Township’s 1st Annual Week of Service, the initiative brought together organizations, employees, and neighbors for two days of hands-on volunteering. These initial days laid the foundation for what is expected to become a full week of community service activities next year.
During the event, our team wasted no time channeling their creativity. With markers, pens, stickers, and heartfelt words, they designed dozens of handmade cards. The messages included personal notes of thanks, words of encouragement, and vibrant illustrations, all intended to uplift the Veterans who would be receiving them at a nearby hospital.
Organizers of the event expressed heartfelt appreciation for the turnout and the quality of the cards created. The BAS team’s participation was a meaningful contribution to the overall total, helping to ensure that more Veterans would receive a tangible reminder of their community’s appreciation.
This initiative reflects the core mission of BAS Cares: engaging in small acts of kindness that make a lasting impact. We look forward to participating in future Weeks of Service and continuing to build strong connections with the communities we serve.
